The Applied Probability Trust is a non-profit-making foundation for study and research in the mathematical sciences. The Trust was founded in 1964, with the assistance of the London Mathematical Society, in order to publish the Journal of Applied Probability.
The Trust now publishes a number of periodicals; these are the international journals
Journal of Applied Probability,
Advances in Applied Probability,
edited by Professor S. Asmussen,
The Mathematical Scientist,
edited by J. Gani, and the student mathematical magazine
Mathematical Spectrum,
which is edited by Dr D.
W. Sharpe.
APT Trustees:
Professor J. Gani FAA (Australian National University),
Professor D. J. Daley (Australian National University),
Professor S. Asmussen (University of Aarhus),
Professor Peter G. Taylor (The University of Melbourne),
and
Professor Frank Kelly FRS (University of Cambridge).
Professor C. C. Heyde FAA
With great regret we record the death of Chris Heyde in Canberra
on 06 March 2008. Chris served with distinction as Associate
Editor of Advances in Applied Probability, 1972-82, and as Editor-in-Chief
of both Journal of Applied Probability and Advances in
Applied Probability from 1990, and as Applied Probability Trustee
from 1984. The many achievements of his career have been
described in Stochastic Methods and Their Applications, a
Festschrift for Chris Heyde
(2004).
The APT has been associated with the School of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Sheffield since 1965. The Trust's editorial and production office is based in the University, and members of the School serve on all of the APT's editorial committees. |
